1️⃣ START WITH YOUR CONTENT

What are we repurposing? Is it video, audio, or written content?

Ideally, you want to start with something you’ve already created.

Use the list of Content Types (for Repurposing) to get you started.

2️⃣ FIND THE RIGHT TOOL

Next, you’ll find the tools that match your chosen content in the database below.

In most cases, there are going to be multiple options.

Most of these services have free trials, so you can play with them BEFORE you buy.

4️⃣ MULTIPLY YOUR CONTENT

Now that you have your content, platforms, and tools, we’re going to standardize your workflow.

45+ Types of Content:

A few notes: choose only the platforms and formats that appeal to you. We don’t even use all of these things.

I mention what tools we use where appropriate. We do almost no editing, but that’s also completely up to you.

This isn’t a precise order for how we do things, but it’s close.

  1. Schedule recording, with event announcements on your Facebook profile, Facebook page, Facebook group, YouTube channel, and LinkedIn
  2. Raw recording (we use Streamyard)
  3. Stream to Facebook
  4. Stream to Instagram
  5. Stream to YouTube
  6. Stream to LinkedIn
  7. Stream to Twitter
  8. Upload to Podium for transcript and other written content
  9. Upload to podcast RSS (we currently use Substack for this)
  10. Podcast RSS should stream to Spotify, Apple, and YouTube at a minimum
  11. Upload to website as post. Add audio, video, and transcript. Optimize for longform SEO keywords.
  12. Add to RSS feed (yes, people still use these)
  13. Send newsletter
  14. Share on relevant message boards, Discord servers, subreddits, Facebook groups, wherever you have an audience
  15. Upload with show notes to YouTube (if you do this right, you’ll have three listings for the same content on YouTube—that’s because YouTube searches live, podcasts, shorts, and standard video content with different algorithms. Thus, you should be in all of those places, optimized for each location).
  16. Split recording into 10-15 minute segments, and upload those separately as well (roughly 3-5 segments—link back to full length video)
  17. Create shortform video snippets of less than 60 seconds (we average 5 good ones per hour—there are dozens of tools for this, and I don’t love any of them)
